M5 workstation kit
Antimicrobial Drainage Workstation Kit
An open grid with an antimicrobial additive in the compound, for wet food and drink production floors.

An open grid 25mm deck with an antimicrobial additive in the compound, for wet food and drink production floors.
This is the combination that a wet hygiene area actually needs. Water and product drop through the grid instead of pooling on the surface, so you are not standing in it and it is not sitting warm under a solid mat all shift. The additive is in the material, inhibiting growth in the deck itself between washdowns.
Preparation areas, wet packing lines, brewery and dairy floors, any position where the floor gets hosed and the auditor looks at everything on it.
This is the right kit when
- The work is food, drink, pharmaceutical or medical.
- The floor is wet in normal operation or gets washed down.
- The deck has to come up for cleaning and go back down.
It is the wrong kit when
- The floor stays dry. A solid deck is easier to keep clean than a grid. See the Antimicrobial kit.
- The area is not on a hygiene specification and the floor is simply wet. See the Drainage kit.
Pick the floor space you use, not the full length of the bench.
About a bench and a half.

Why the kit costs what it costs
You can buy loose matting tiles cheaper than this. It is worth knowing exactly what the difference is before you do, because it is not margin.
01
25mm, not 12 to 19mm
Every interlocking tile we can find on sale in the UK is 12mm, 16mm or 19mm. Ours is 25mm. Thickness is what does the work underfoot, so this is a different class of product rather than the same thing at a higher price.
02
Edging is in the box
Bevelled edging closes every open edge, and it is included. Sold separately elsewhere it runs £19.00 to £27.20 per edge piece, and a work position needs four to six of them. That is £76 to £163 of accessory you are not buying.
03
The price is the delivered price
No carriage at checkout, no threshold to reach, no Highlands surcharge and no price on application for Northern Ireland. The number on the page is the number you pay, anywhere in the UK.
Compare a finished work position against a finished work position, not a kit against a single tile. Tiles, the edging to close the perimeter and the carriage on a heavy box are three separate lines everywhere else. Here they are one number.

Questions people ask
The details specific to this surface. For anything unusual, ask us before ordering.
01Can it go through a wash bay or be cleaned in place?
It lifts in sections, so most sites take it up, clean the floor and the deck, and put it back. Tell us your washdown temperature and chemistry and we will confirm what the compound takes.
02Does the antimicrobial additive replace cleaning?
No. It inhibits growth in the deck material between cleans. It is not a cleaning regime and we will not pretend it is one.
03Do small items fall through the grid?
Yes, that is the trade for drainage. On a production floor that is usually acceptable and sometimes preferable, because it means nothing is trapped under a solid mat.
Still weighing this up against the Antimicrobial kit?
Both are 25mm decks with edging included. The difference is the top surface and what your floor does. Compare them side by side, or answer three questions and we will pick.
